i had one tbh myself i didnt like it reason just wasnt as fat as most other hardware synths i own buy the mirco korg.. u can run sample into it and use the lfo and the fliters ino its only like £220 or w.e it is now days but then atleast u got a bit more cash... sometimes look at the lower priced synths u get more for ur money plus get alot of cool stuff...

Not sure/can't remember about the snow but you can process external sound with all the other Virusses.

Virus not sounding fat? ...

Have you looked into older virus models? I was saving up for a snow too but instead got an indigo from ebay for 500€. No need to tell that I'm loving it to death.

Nah man. I'm not looking to buy one. In fact, it's good to hear your opinions on the snow, it's easing my post decision dissonance.

I just thought that all the virusses apart from model A should sound quite the same.

Go to a store and test drive a few

that blofeld looks redonkulous! the main reason i wanted the virus was the plug in interface that it uses, and how easily it can be integrated instead of having to record the audio in, can u do that with the blofeld?

Well thats exaclty why I sent the virus ti, The plugin itergration just didnt work. Massive latency problems and midi timing issues that would not work. Lots of stuff.

ALSO, you can only have one instance of the plugin i think!!! And use it multi timbrel for all the sounds. Which is shit.

The blofeld looks phatt but its not a plugin.

Im guessing that the usb could be for midi and the analog outputs for the audio.

To be honest, if your that new to production I would just get a couple of softsynths. I can personally recommend the following:

Korg legacy analog edition
Rob Papen Blue.
Albino 3
Z3ta
Mini Monsta
Kontakt 3

You could buy all these for the price of a hardware virus (and yes, they are as good!)

:)

Also, if you got money to spend I would look at a UAD card and buy some neve / roland / spl plugins for it.

lol. Fair enough! Well, If you dont alreay own any UAD cards I would just go and buy them now mate. some of the plugins you get for UAD are amazing.

Ive used quite a few harware synths and can do anything with software really. If i want to use say, a sine sub bass from a analog synth I will use a sample in kontakt,

But yeah, check out some of those softsynths you aint got and get a UAD card
