Just trying to move production from fruity to logic - any tips or techniques for the move?
Im allready noticing some dis-advantages of logic over fruity in the way that i write. Stacking of synths and there patterns is gunna be so messy in logic - but i can visualize what i have to do - just messy.
I want some advantages!! Logic users?? Dont let me fall back into the fruity loop!!

why switch DAW if you don't know why?

Yeah, why the need to swap? They all do the same thing, seems like an unnecessary ballache to switch for no discernable advantage.
Personally i think logic is the muts nuts, but then that's all i know.
All daws can do certain things better than the next one but tbh they all let you use vst's so just stick with what you know init.

Logic has an amazing range of free proprietary plug ins that are the dogz mate.
The sequencing and audio editing are great.
It has everything.
It is amazing.
Get it + learn it.

Logic has much more technical possibilitys. Youll notice it when youre working with it. After all logic gets logical. Much better soundengine if you ask me. Editting is much more easy. Don't worry just try it.

Do you mean move audio *your tracks* to logic or swapping platforms?

if yr into step sequencing, check out ultrabeat.
otherwise, logic is outrageously efficient. load up instruments and stack away.

1. Both are Great DAWS
2. the user makes the Daw ,not the other way around.
3. If its not broke don't fix it ..
4. if its broke. Hit it again with a larger spanner
5. I have wrote professionally on every commercial DAW known to man , and they are all awful.

I forgot about this post!
Well - i dont need to swap - it's just i have a Mac now aswell with Logic all kitted up with some juicy stuff and just wanted to learn it.
I dont think i'll ever forget how to use FL and since the first post i've been using Logic a bit. Its still not fast as FL. Its taking me 10 times as long to do anything. But im starting to understand the finer details and thats cutting time. At the same time im no where near confident enough to write a full track in Logic. Would take me weeks. Where as i could do the same thing in FL in a few hours.
Prob going to use it more as a mastering type setup. Bounce all tracks down from fruity and re-render and compress/eq in logic.
I'll find a process that works for me.

fruity being the connoisseir's choice would mean that switching to logic would be a savagely bad move.
rethink your actions eh!

Is logic making you think about your attention to detail more? Because in that case it's a good thing... Banging out a track mixed and mastered in 3 hours sounds a bit mad

Damn straight. Step sequencer in Ultrabeat is alright, but the Hyper Editor is the shit for drum programming.

im using reason at the moment on my mac but waiting to get logic in a few weeks. nowhere near being good at using reason so thought i would start fresh with logic as i am able to now i have a mac.
all my friends who produce swear by it and one of them has just been signed so i cannot argue.

Is there any right or wrong answer here?? To be brutally honest - no - i've never paid for any software ever. But - i did get it from a friend who work's for mac so it is legit with all updates available.
The attention to detail i think would be easier in logic.. I think.. - as fruity is based around loops and logic is more 1 off copy/paste/edit. But clone/paste/edit in fruity is just as quick - just depends. I gotta learn logic no matter what - just gonna take time to convert all the fruity tricks into logic process's.
And there's just somthing about a mac's audio rendering i like. Even in serato u can here it. My friend has serato on a PC laptop and doesnt sound near as good as a mac. Mac's just have a warmth to it. Cant explain it.
