I've been scaling my shit back considerably and going on a kinda minimal tip sampling vinyl and trying to make beats like that - its alot of work getting enough elements to gel together but it's solved some of my issues with getting my shit to sound warmer, roomier and more life-like. All about getting back to chopping drums.
tho tbh I wish I was making aquacrunk beats in a hot tub... still working on that

jazzy/idm/choppage as usual with deviations into harder, clowny and classic tech stepish throwback

Phasers, Flangers, Tremolos etc. With a load of bitcrushers and compessors added in for a grimey industrial horror sound. & assigning LFO to high pass for basslines.

lately it's been mostly staring at the sequencer until i realize that i don't feel like making anything, and then turning it off to go read books.

been sampling all sorts of weird shit rather than records for my drums recently, was making hihat loops with noodles yesterday (they were rice noodles if anyone was wondering

)
loads of fun tho, got bored with using the same old sounds.

All over the place honestly. I've been trying to tailor my sound but I can't stay still for very long. My tracks come out different all the time. I think I'm going to give up soon and just be happy making the music.
All the big producers seem to have a certain sound that they stick too. How important do you think that is?
Here is a clip with all of my latest tunes....

signiture sounds are fine..
it's when that signiture sound is figured out by everyone and a million copy cat records come out using the same/similar sound that it becomes a problem.
i'd rather see every artist come out with a totally different sound in every song but thats hard especially if you've worked for a long time homing that style in the first place. But there is just some sheer acts of laziness though.
tbh if its a good song its a good song so signiture sounds don't really matter to me.

i'm messing with arepegios and basslines but trying to make it unique! tough.. i love those arpegios tho so tight if you get a sweet little tune and the right time set.

Do things as quick as possible and forget about spending ages trying to EQ and make things fit perfect.
