Any love?
Just realised they're one of my favourite bands ever, and "Radio-Activity" is dubstep 25 years early.

Kraftwerk - Live at Tribal Gathering 1997:
http://www.mediafire.com/?2zqw5my3zya
i think this was their first full live appearance since nearly 20 years. you can hear the amazed crowd and it was said that many of the "headliners" of the festival couldn't believe that they just saw & heard their "gods"

Gods. Their early stuff before they reached their now familiar robot sound is worth a listen too.

absolutely love
saw them when they came to stockholm
the tickets costed 950 SEK (£80,5 / $124)
the tickets for sitting instead of be in the crowd would have been much more comfortable and even cheaper...
great concert anyway.. loved the visuals.. musical journey thru early synthpop and the first electropop

the best things was having been a massive fan for years i never thought i'd get to see them as they hadn't done anything live in 15 years or so. i'm lucky enough to have seen them twice now.
as someone says upthread, check the crowd noise from the tribal gathering appearance. nobody could really believe it was finally happening. people were going wild.

To be honest I find them really over-rated
Im a big fan of alot of Krautrock bands, and I find Tangerine Dream to be the top of all of them.
The likes of Phaedra or Richochet blows anything Kraftwerk have ever done out of the water, and this comes in the early 70s, the same time as Kraftwerk.
This may be down to the fact that the likes of Tangerine Dream, Neu!, Guru Guru or Can didn't have the same 'image' as Kraftwerk, but maybe thats being a bit cynical.
Then again, Kraftwerk surely have been more influential, (no Kraftwerk - No Hiphop) but I was never a fan of mainstream electro and always preferred the more psychedelic edge that Kraftwerk seemed to lack in comparison to their peers.

balls.
As much as I like some TG stuff ('phaedra' for example is ace) they were responsible for some of the most pompous overblown self-important pretentious muscial wankery this side of yes and peter gabriel.
just 'cos they're all german and all operating around the same time they get labelled as 'krautrock'. what does 'phaedra' have to do with rock? what do the likes of can, TG and kraftwerk have in common sonically? not that much...

That sounds like a reccomendation.
Nout wrong with a bit of overblown self-important pretentious musical wankery, look to Tarkus-era ELP, Marillion in their prime (Kayleigh ,

) King Crimson - Starless in Bible black, early Pink Floyd.
Although I have to confess, Im more of a fan of the 'sell out' era Yes, with the best produced track of all time 'Owner of A broken heart' (produced by Trevor Horn), over the recognised magnus Opus, Tales from Topographical Oceans

I'm an avid fan of pre Autobahn Kraftwerk. There's something about all that early Krautrock stuff that's absolutely amazing.
If you don't have this radio show (w/ members of NEU!), take the time to email the address at the bottom to get it -
http://www.bigozine2.com/archive/ARrari ... remen.html
The tracks aren't available anymore, and I do not have them handy on my computer. It's worth it.
Also, check out some early Kraftwerk here -

Yeah Yeah Yeah thats the shit right there like.
I love the juxtaposition of the psyched out hippy vibe Krautrock stole from the British late 60s mixed with the static german motorik groove. Totally amazing.
My favourite video, Can - Mother Sky:
