not if u changed the locks and kept the door locked - that kinda goes with the section 6 tho, keeping it safe etc...
so people would have to be let in one by one kinda thing - dont leave door open, police are allowed to waltz in if that happens.

I don't recall the original "ravers" back in the day(at least the OG ravers in America) ever asking if it was legal... in fact, I thought that was the appeal.

Frankly, over here, if it's not illegal, we call it a club night or a party unless we are 10 and still believe RAVES in the traditional illegal, fun sense are still around.

We used to break into a three story house and throw parties in there. Got away with it about 3 times, once the cops showed the spot was blown and I had to jump out of a window and some speakers were confiscated. In order to retrieve said equipment someone would have had to come and claim them and get slapped with fines and a hearing v. the damage done to the property. That was here in California. I'm not sure what the laws are like for something like that out there, but if you think you can pull it off by all means.

Actually it's all about finding a dis-used warehouse/building away from people and paying the owner some cash to rent it for a night. Then sent out invites and boom it's a private party. Coppers can't close down shit.

With any luck, because of the credit crisis, expect to see alot more abandoned buildings, and with a little more luck, more warehouse parties. Lets just hope we can afford to go to them.

I was at one in Seattle a bit ago. Don't know who owned the property, but it was a bit up off the street (up some stairs and back into the woods a bit) and it wasn't very close to houses on either side. The inside of the place was totally torn apart, no drywall, the floors had holes busted in them and stuff... it was really falling apart.

The "venue" pulled a huge extension cord from somewhere to provide power (not a tremendously good idea in itself). They had a "bar" also, which consisted of a dude selling a variety of drugs/alcohol from behind a fold-up table.

All-in-all it was a really fun party. The vibe was totally cool, kick ass live set from a local guy, and it went all night (not subject to the laws of official entertainment institutions).

Either way, it's a big risk, but usually a lot of fun.

lol how long ago was this???? i was in a party along the same lines...legal tho, and someone was tellin me about a bust that had just happened a few weeks prior...sounds like the same party.
