this is the first track i've ever finished and mixed. So i dont' know how to export the file as a .wav. i used to consolidate option but that's not what i wanted. i just want the whole track in a .wav file that i can post or play using media player or something.

Nah, that would be to easy!!!
Try using the 'Render' option in the File menu. You'll find various export options including .wav and mp3.
