Hey everyone,
I come from an Electro/House background, and after checking out Rusko's tutorial video, I felt inspired to make my own dubstep tune.
Here's a 1 minute clip.
Hope you guys can tell me if its any good! Making a dubstep tune has been so different to anything I've made before, and so far it's been real fun (and challenging

).
Anyway, tell me what you guys think, Cheers!

you definitely have the right idea. work on making your bass more thick and cutting, also work on making your snare more powerful. it seems like your accompanying sound effects are stronger than the bass and that shouldn't be that way. really good for a first go, however.
btw, lol @ what sounds like dragon ball z sound "ahhhhhhh..." like when they power up

an alright first attempt. I agree about the smak smak snare. do it.
remember though, when Rusko says "you make dubstep like this" that translates as "you make rusko dubstep like this"...

yeah, that's on track, just keep it crammed with noisy sfx like you're doing (because you're good at that, not because that=dubstep) and work on making your bass into something that sounds exciting on its own.

Thanks for comments everyone. Yeah I just made the snare harder and louder. I'm away for the holidays so I can only mix this on a cheap pair of Sony headphones. That's why the bass may be lacking ..
Anyway I'll let you guys know when this is done, i'm listening to Rusko's Cockney Knees Up for inspiration lol

rusko is tight and all but personally i would steer clear from that sound because it seems everyone is riding his jock strap at the moment.
even rusko will probably venture off in new directions...
