I hope not!
Anyway, if more people are on it we should organise meeting up at Hyde Park and going together.
Dubstep block innit.

I posted this on another thread, but I figure it also fits here.
for those of you that believe Israel is waaaaaayyy off on this one and the slaughtering of innocent civilians should stop, you can try to 'complain behind the keyboard' as efficiently as possible.
There's this youtube group,
http://www.youtube.com/group/WeAreAllPalestinians were you can upload a short video of yourself protesting. make it loud or silent, or however you want.
You can also upload other related videos or at least you can share the link on other forums or communities.
It's not easy, but a conglomerate might occur and we might get our voices heard.
speak up, spread the word.
besides going to the rally in my town tomorrow, it's one thing i thought of doing for this... doesn't seem to be working much so far. But maybe more people will join.

Metropolitan Police Commander Bob Broadhurst...
"A hard core of demonstrators are undermining the cause of the vast majority of people on this demonstration, who are law-abiding citizens wishing to protest peacefully."
It's a shame that this always seems to happen.

By all accounts the police helped cause the situation to become what it did through their blocking of all sidestreets and bottlenecking the end of the march to an inpassable point regardless of the mass numbers of frustrated folk they knew would be marching today.
Easy headlines: Peace March Turns Violent, yeah, because the old bill are spotless innit

PK, all it takes to stop yourself looking stupid was to google "Israel Starbucks".
Howard Shultz, the chairman of Starbucks is an active zionist.
In 1998 he was honoured by the Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah with "The Israel 50th Anniversary Friend of Zion Tribute Award" for his services to the zionist state in "playing a key role in promoting close alliance between the United States and Israel". The Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah funds israeli arms fairs chaired by the butcher of Jenin - General Shaul Mofaz, and the zionist propaganda website honestreporting.com.[1]
His work as a propagandist for Israel has been praised by the Israeli Foreign Ministry as being key to Israel's long-term PR success [2].
Recently whilst the Israeli army was slaughtering Palestinians in Jenin, Nabulus and Bethlehem he made a provocative speech blaming the Palestinians of terrorism, suggesting the intifada was a manifestation of anti- Semitism, and asked people to unite behind Israel [3].
At a time when other businesses were desperately pulling out of Israel, Starbucks decided to help Israel's floundering economy and invest in Israel - a joint venture with Israeli conglomerate Delek Group for Starbucks outlets in Israel ( Shalom Coffee Co).[4][5][6]. A bad business decision - Starbucks made heavy losses and in April 2003 Starbucks were forced to announced that all 6 Starbucks cafes in Israel will be shut down and its partnership with Delek end.[14]
It has been revealed that Starbucks still continues to support Israel by sponsoring fund raisers for Israel.[15]
Starbucks fully supports Bush's war of terror and has opened a Starbucks in Afghanistan for the US invaders - they like to do there bit to help the occupation.[17]
In March 2005 Starbucks arrived in Guantanamo Bay, the illegal US detention and torture centre, to open a chain of its "We Proudly Brew" outlets. One of the outlets is just a "stone's throw" from the barbed wire behind which prisoners are caged and tortured. Apparently torturing is thirsty work, Starbucks is selling 1400 cups a day at Guantanamo.
The United Nations has demanded the closure of the torture den, Starbucks are not bothered they say "We refrain from taking a position on the legality of the detention center" . For Starbucks its commitment to the military is more than just business, their Customer Relations say "Starbucks has the deepest respect and admiration for U.S. military.. who risk their lives to protect Americans and our values of freedom and democracy". Starbucks in return, according to Petty Officer Barry Tate, is doing its share by helping " lift the morale" of the guards and interrogator's at Guantanamo Bay.
I was at the demonstration and mark my words: the police had planned the riot from the start. It was premeditated.
All throughout the demonstration there were -no- barriers in place flanking the route, only white tape. On the approach to Kensington High Street, the police had placed steel barriers, connected only by links. Immediately in front of the embassy and on the pavement opposite it, the steel barriers were locked together using metal fixings.
The police -knew- that the crowd would stop outside the embassy. They -knew- a bulb of people would be created. Any school kid can tell you that in such a situation the most important crowd safety principle is to have escape routes if a crush happens.
The police attacked the front of the crowd with full knowledge that the mass could not move back due to the firmly locked barriers at the back.
Whilst women and children (and I know that it's a cliché but I was amazed at the sheer number of women and children) were being crushed and suffocated by the police using pepper and CS spray, police at the back of the crowd were physicaly stopping people from pulling down the barriers that was causing the crush. Why? BECAUSE THE FUCKING COPS PLANNED THE CRUSH TO HAPPEN. What the fuck were they doing fencing off the road in front of the embassy? Why the fuck was the section in front of the embassay the only section of fencing that was locked together?
I'm not stupid, I'm not the violent type. I'm not just looking for trouble. After seeing the scum police behave the way they did I was amazed how how restrained people were being.

Obviously it's not gonna make the Israeli state stop it's genocide, but fuck Starbucks. They make a profit from the produce made on illegal Israeli settlements in Gaza and on the West Bank.
Their CEO is an active supporter and legitimiser (if that's even a word) is the racist Israeli state.
They happily make profit supporting the US in Guantanamo.
They're responsible for driving family-run, local coffeeshops out of business.
They're part of the Americanisation of cultures across the world.
They represent American big-bucks capitalism.
They make fucking piss-poor coffee.
On another note, the most inspiring thing I saw yesterday were people busting into Starbucks, grabbing handfulls of sanwiches and bottles and water and distributing them out to their fellow protestors.
[I'm listening to sub FM at the moment and they've just given you 20 shout outs in the last minute. It's a proper headfuck when you're writing a response to someone and they're saying their name over and over on the radio]

sorry about that, all i did was ask for a track id
where did they stop you? there's a law stating you can't demonstrate on the same side of the street as an embassy in london, that's why the tibetan protest has been over the road from the chinese embassy for the last 20 odd years

Not to piss on anyones bonfire but do you really think getting a crew of angry british trustafarians to wave posters on sticks about outside an embassy is really going to stop whats going on? Or are you really doing it because it makes you think your doing your bit to stop what is happening?

Okay of course there are going to be people with genuine cultural reasons for wanting to protest against it.
However, in my experience the amount of 'urbanists' i see at protests and rallies standing about shouting the odds with their posters just looking like stnuc is definitely enough to justify what i said.
