Just looking for a crisp, clear Subwoofer to connect to my computer really... Im not exactly picking up every bassline through the speakers i've got connected at the moment! Anything will do but I have no idea where to start looking and what to look for...
Any brands or model's you would recommend specifically?

Cheers people,
DM

You'll want to get a good set of speakers before you get yourself a sub mate. Subs are extras that are good to have once you get into things and have a bit of spare dollar.

Speakers are essential. All a subs good for are your lowest frequencies. Fair do's everyone likes to feel a bit of bass but get yourself a good set of speakers and you'll feel the bass anyway. If your currently using a budget set of shitty speakers i'd definitely invest in upgrading them instead of getting a sub for your shitty speakers, the two wouldnt work well together and you'd just end up having far too much bass in your music.

Is there a big price jump between the two?

I've got a set of KRK's for monitoring and listneing and theyre amazing.

I'd love a set of Mission speakers for listneing to music but theyre not essential at the moment.

If its just for listneing then honestly mate get yourself down to a crack converters and buy a hifi from them, theres normally some well good deals!!

I have KRKs for mixing as well as listening, and I love them. Great audio quality. I also have a KRK sub to match and it's great at producing lows.

I've got the new krk rp6 rokits theyre pretty good. Think i'm going to invest in a sub but theyre definitely better than the old technics speakers i've been using for the past couple of years. I can sit listening to dubstep and some wangy electro and happily feel the sub in my chest. I've got them running through my mixer so i just turn the bass up on that a little.

anyone have these matched with the sub?
the bass response is pretty ace already i reckon.
is it really necessary to add a sub for dubstep?

ive got the krk rp10 sub and i like it just fine. for me the extra bass is kind of counterproductive to making music because i find myself just listening to the track too much instead of finishing it!

I use a B&W sealed 10", that does the job very very nicely.
