2562 | The Hague, Netherlands
{ 3024 / Tectonic }

Imagine the perfect liaison between dubstep style rhythm and bass, deep techno soundscapes and unusual sampling ethics: sexy, deep and energetic at the same time. That’s the mission behind 2562, the low-end project of Dutchman Dave Huismans. After producing and occasionally releasing a mix of house, techno and broken beat since a couple of years, 2007 saw him surprise the dubstep world under a new and anonymous moniker, the number 2562 representing his area code on the west coast of Holland in gloomy The Hague.

His uptempo, techno-infused bass transmissions such as Channel Two, Kameleon and Techno Dread – released on DJ Pinch’s respected dubstep label Tectonic from Bristol – found their way onto the decks of everyone from Mary Anne Hobbs, Skream, Kode 9 and Mala to Pole, Anthony Shake Shakir, Laurent Garnier and all those who have their ears primed for heavy bass, deep funk and spatial dub. 2008 brought his debut album ‘Aerial’, melding genres with a
distinctive futuristic production style to wide acclaim, followed by sought after experimental releases for his techno project A Made Up Sound, a.o. on the Hardwax-affiliated Subsolo label.

The buzz around his releases got him booked to play at UK dubstep-strongholds such as Subloaded, FWD and Sub Dub, but also at international high profile clubs such as Fabric (London), Berghain (Berlin) and 11 (Amsterdam), as well as numerous festivals and underground locations from Scandinavia to Japan and from Greece to Siberia. But 2562 is not a producer-turned-dj after a couple of his records did well. Having been a vinyl fiend and full-on beatfreak since his youth he’s a proper selector who enjoys working the decks and making a trip out of a dj-set. Expect lots of fresh dubs from him and others, mixed up with the odd unexpected classic.

Jeff Pietro | Chicago
{ [UNTLD] Chicago / Vermilion }
& Karl Meier | Chicago
{ Remnant / Sandwell District }
A serendipitous encounter some years ago brought fellow techno enthusiasts Jeff Pietro and Karl Meier together; as did a shared interest in the avant-garde and all things subversive. their dj sets (opening for the likes of Jeff Mills, Surgeon, and Convextion) look to the future while being influenced by the music of the past, focusing on dynamism and recontextualization, while their productions highlight a willingness to eschew genre conventions in favor of stressing arrangements and forward-thinking sound design. Karl's most current release (with A-list) is set for release on Remnant in early 2009 with a remix by Robert Henke (Monolake), while Jeff continues to work on textural music on Vermilion, his shared label with Dave Siska. Look out for a joint release soon.

We don't usually do advance ticket sales but I'm sure we could get you a guaranteed entrance if you're coming from so far away.

Don't know specific directions from Midway but I imagine you'd have to take a highway to the expressway goin north and then exit at Division St. Google maps always comes correct but hit me up if you still need help.

If you aren't renting a car you should hit the Orange line to the Blue line... I think it is a free transfer... Check CTA site for more infos... http://www.transitchicago.com/riding_ct ... eline.aspx

CTA is dirty and sometimes annoying but it'll get you there no problem... Might want to confirm there isn't any construction on the tracks though.

Unfortunately, I won't be making it to this one. Though I love 2562, I couldn't resist the chance to play at an all ages rave in Cincinatti in a three story dungeonesque art studio. I hope someone takes pictures and records for me! I'm willing to host everything, as usual.

The blue line runs from Union Station to Lava... Like Tim said we will have our hands full friday.. but let me know what time you are planning on getting in and we may be able to pick you up. If I didn't have 6 people in my house already you could stay with us. I will see if anyone has a couch spot on bbp.
