for those who havent heard check out this teaser video:

http://www.ableton.com/nl195

my most looked forward to features:
* a workaround for the 128 parameter automation limit!
* the looper
* the new groove and warping options
* the fact that notes on the piano roll have the actual note value displayed on the note

Max for Live is going to be ridiculously cool. Just imagining the midi effects possibilities for drum programming! Or any of the amazing drum sequencer samplers that people have made for MSP all integrated into the environment and automateable. It really makes Live a whole new beast

How many of you use max now?

I can't help but feel that a bunch of kids are going to buy this thinking that max is right for them.

Every production forum on the internet is going to be swamped by kids getting live 8 never having touched anything like max.

Still excited!

hmm not convinced yet. all these additions seem a bit gimmicky, it would be nice to have a vocoder or group channels with ableton but you can do it without these functions...

I can see the automation and max thing are going to be good for some people, but I can't reaaally see myself using either :|

Finally they are addressing requested features from the community
But to be honest - these are things that should have been implmented in 7, and I feel a bit pissed off that we have to pay for them in another upgrade

Still no upgrade to the Reverb tho or automation curves :( - I would be happy to go totally native if these were addressed.

I was talking with a university proffesor I buy my hardware from about Live features I miss. And 2 days later - BANG - they announce Live 8. Nice.

Bezier curves? Anyone know if there is such a thing in Live now? Because I see that the crossfade is actually a bezier curve!

:)

can you really hear the difference between bezier curves and ones with multiple breakpoints?

suppose bezier curves are quicker - they look cool as well

I am not a kid lol but no I have never used max. It is right for me because it is right there in my seq of choice... or will be anyway. So what? Even if I don't want to learn max I will be able to use what other people create right? I think that is what has me excited more than anything.

They're not as time consuming
+ I find that I dont get as involved with the automation the same as I do with Logic.
