.wav files are compressed which is why they're so large. For most cases though you'll probably never hear a difference between a .wav and a 320 .mp3.

damn I even forgot to comment on the track. I'm really feelin this one. I've been in a more chilled out vibe the past few weeks so this should fit right in. Thanks!

if you look at the spectrals in adobe audition or nero or whatever you will notice a clear difference, both in the frequency range and the discretization of sounds on the ~100ms timescale. a wav is 1440kbps, and while a 320 maintains most of the frequencies (cutoff ~20kHz) and is also sampled at 44kHz there is compression in the time domain which can be audible, especially on good systems.

Thanks, all the violin and dub sounds were synthesized by myself in Reason 4's THOR machine.
I sampled some old grime claps and snares and completely mashed em together.
Then field-recorded myself tapping a 20p on the bottom of an empty coke can, that's the hihats.
and the kick got lifted from an old kanye west record, of all places.
