Ok i have three questions about midi in cubase sx 3

1. im using my kork microkorg as my main keyboard how do i set it as the default keyboard so every time i open a new midi/audio track the input is automatically set to my microkorg(i beleive this would invovle changing the latency but how the fuck do i do that in cubase) ?

2. When i press a key on my microkorg it takes ages for the vst to make a sound(its lagging) how can i stop this ?

3. how do i assign the mixer tracks to a midi controller eg volume sliders and pan knobs ?

What do u select when u start a new project mate?, i always choose 16track midi sequencer and it detects my keybored automatically.

also about the latency ..try gettin the asio4all asio drivers, jus google it and change it in the...

devices-device setup-vst audiobay-(then on the rite u can select the asi4all driver)

In Cubase SE 3:

1. Open Device Setup - Go to default midi port section - select default midi port

2. Latency should mainly be solved by the soundcard's drivers and set up before Cubase is even open. What kind of card are you using? Does it have ASIO drivers? If so have you selected those drivers within Cubase's device setup? Generally: Decreasing the settings for the soundcard's buffer size will reduce latency, you must find the balance between acceptable latency performance and acceptable audio performance (no crackles, etc.) There are some latency reduction settings within Cubase under the Device Setup - VST Audiobay - Advanced panel, but they will only help if the above is set up well to begin with.

3. Device Setup - Generic Remote. Search the manual for specifics as its much too much info to retype here.

Ill have a butchers at vst audiobay, i kno the drivers are working ok because my keyboard and nanokontrol work flawlessly with fruity. cheers
