i dont know if its just tradition with uk dance music (i dont know much about it the history of it), but why is "soundboy" a prominent topic for naming singles or songs themselves? sorry if its a stupid question, but i'd like to know!

soundboy gets a straw stuck down his shaft and sand and bits of glass poured down it.

But....... wait.....
Wasn't every soundman once a soundbwoy? If they all get killed then there won't be any new soundman, will there.
A bit shortsighted if you ask me, but fun nevertheless
I was lucky enough to hear Warrior Queen call someone a SoundBwoy for real

a lot of uk music is heavily inluenced by reggae but a bit more hyped up
the hypest form of reggae is the soundclash where selectors often draw for specials (1 off tracks with resung lyrics) off big reggae artists
most of these specials have new resung lyrics based around killing dibby soundboys/ drum pan sounds etc
anothere reason why these sample are so frequent is that a lot of jungle and dubstep tracks with dancehall/reggae vocals arent official remixes or original voicings, they use accapellas that they get off cds or the net or whatever. a lot of reggae tracks you cant get the original accapellas of, but sounds leak out accapellas of their specials theyve had done. so the accapellas available are special 'sound killer' versions. you often hear the artists bigging up the sounds name in these vocal dubstep bits.
