if i automate the synced rate of an LFO in reason 4 (any synth), is there any way of precisely editing the rate in steps (16ths,1/4th etc) afterwards. when i go into the automation lane, i can only edit the rate as a value between 1-127. With trial and error i can get it to do what i want but surely there is a way of seeing it in sync steps?????

That is the way its done I'm afraid....

But there is a secret ninja technique!

Set your lfo rate to the rate you need, right click on the control & choose 'edit automation', then click once in the automation lane that has been created. The automation data should be set at the rate you want.

To get another rate, create a new automation lane and repeat the above process. Then just copy & paste the new automation data into the first lane where you need an LFO rate change...

huh? that there is an easier way than that to do it guys. I will sort it out when I get home but it takes a few mins to set the rate you want and have it automating different values on the same automation line.

I think I understand what you are saying. I believe I got through it by drawing the automation lane, setting up a pattern with those vector based dots, then going back to the device on the rack and putting the mouse on the knob and it would tell me where I was at. It should tell you somewhere what sync your at in the automation lane screen and it doesn't, it's almost as if I do more by ear than trying to figure out what rate it's at.....

Set the LFO rate to your standard rate > right click - edit automation

Now press record while selecting the automation lane and adjust the rate while the loop is playing.

Now you will have small automation loops, you can now edit their length and placement.
