For my first pair of decks I was looking at one of these two packages, which one do you think would be the better of the two? also are there any others in this price range that would be better?

Secondhand Technics can always be sold for more or less the price you paid for them. Don't waste a penny on anything else then 1210s ffs.

It's definitely worth saving up and getting better ones.

And I'd choose the Vestax PDX 2000's over the 1210's.

I'd buy some used 1210/1200s mate. probably be £200-300. You won't regret it.

just ask yourself what kinda DJ you want to be

if you plan to be a performing DJ, 1210's are the ttbls you will use in almost every club you go to

they are the standard

when you learn to play on vestax / stanton / numark and then you get booked in a club with 1200's, it'll be a different animal and you won't be playing at your best.

if you plan to be a bedroom / internet radio DJ, you can use whatever you want, it won't matter.

i have a pair of 15 year old, direct drive omnitronic's
Been using them for about 4 years now n still going strong!
Wheneva i come to use a pair of technics, vestax or whateva, there a joy to use n real easy to mix n scratch on etc.
guess im trying to say it dosnt matter if you have 1210's or not. As long as you can mix its all good....

1210's vs. Stanton's? There is no question... technics. Sure both might be similar with the amount of torque and pitch hold, though I personally believe the technics to outperform in both. Keep in mind that technics are the industry standard and always will be. I have yet to play in any legitimate club that had anything other than technics decks. It's best to learn on what you will be playing on unless you plan on taking your decks to ever show with you.
