JUS WAN, SF | Naked Lunch / Apple Pips / Tube 10 / Surefire
As a youth in Denver, CO in 1995, Jus Wan (fka Just:One) developed a passion for the scattered beats and pulsing bass of the era's UK imported jungle music. After moving to San Francisco in 2000, an association with Betalounge.com exposed him to the emerging sounds of 2step and broken beat. This lead to him founding the internet
radio station Flux.fm, and joining the ranks at Future Breaks FM! Having done the rounds at various club nights in San Francisco since 2002, he finally scored a residency at San Francisco's Narco.Hz dubstep monthly in 2007. Most recently, his productions have been released on labels like Apple Pips, Tube10 and Naked Lunch with a track
appearing on the Dubstep Allstars Vol. 6 cd. The tunes have been played by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Appleblim, Martyn, Peverelist and Distance to name a few. His DJ sets are varied and contain everything from uptempo technoid flavors to glitched out low end frequencies with an emphasis on quality production and tight mixing.

Screendoor, MKE | Sublow // Projektmke.com

Like most midwest artists, Screendoor (Justin Grall) was influenced early on by the sounds emanating from the Chicago-Detroit axis during the warehouse rave scene of the late nineties. With an interest in all sounds electronic from ambient to hardcore, Screendoor's journey style dj sets represent a vast range of influences, today with an emphasis on the sounds coming out of Berlin and London. His recent sets showcase the crossover potential of dubstep, dub, IDM and minimal dub techno.

Outside of the DJ booth, Screendoor ran one of the last remaining vinyl outposts in Milwaukee and the Midwest, Niche Style / Sound and promotes events regularly bringing in a variety of international and national talent. His Milwaukee-based "Sublow" and "Midwest Dubstep All-Stars" shows were some of the first midwest all dubstep shows. The one off events have showcased regional and national talent like Kid Kameleon, DJ C and Merrick Brown.

Over his 10 year DJ career, Screendoor has performed alongside artists such as Acid Circus, Adam X, Andreas Tilliander, Anonymous, Atomly, Barem, Bitch Ass Darius, Bruno Pronsato, Butane, Centrific, Curtis Chip, Danny the Wildchild, Derek Plaslaiko, Destro, DJ C, DJ ESP Woody McBride, Doormouse, Eidolon, Emotional Joystick, Fanon Flowers, Frankie Vega, Hyperactive, James Patrick, Justin Long, Kid Kameleon, Kyle Geiger, Maetrik, Matthew Dear, Merrick Brown, Mike Dearborn, Miles Tilmann, Outputmessage, Punisher, Ripley, Ryan Crosson, Safety Scissors, Sassmouth, Scape One, Seth Troxler, Shiva, Signaldrift, Someone Else, Superpitcher and UFO!.

the kind that baffles people who have put limitations on "dubstep", and yet makes me inexorably happy. :D

Duuuude had such a great time last night - Thanks again for having me out so I could drop all of those tasty white labels just sitting stagnant in my bins.

Timid and Merrick tore the place up early with a great mix of atmospheric, steppers and garage vibes. Jus Wan finished out the evening with a set that just kept building and building. I wanted to train spot every track he played for the last 45 minutes but I also needed my dancefloor space. I did get the name of the track of the night for me and it happened to be an unreleased Jus Wan track (U43A I believe?). Can't wait for the release...

As always, BGB is a great friends and family atmosphere - lots of warm smiles, good friends from Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago and beyond connecting for the love of bass.

Big up the Bass Goes Boom sound!
