I have bought a behringer u-control uca202. A little device, I hoped to record my dj sets. Phono inputs from my mixer and usb for the computer. I can't seem to get it to do anything. Well I have a demo of sony sound forge, which it works with. I can't afford the real one and this demo times out soon. Are there any other ways of doing it. Am I just really thick?

try audacity man. Its a decent program and great for recording mixes and shit.

yeah you should be able to record using any daw, some decent free ones out there so don't get worried about soundforge running out
