what makes the baddest drop in a dubstep tune for you?
is it the buildup, the bass that drops? what makes you wanna get skankin?

I like the fact that dubstep isnt always about the drop.

for me the deeper and more negative space the better, not as partial to too much of the old

a little spot of silence does wonders.
an unexpected key-change type of thing.
a build following the drop as well, not just a straight loop.
and an eager massive.

edit: and also an apt sample, like goat stare, say.
loefah's drops, basically.

I couldn't agree with you more, when reading this subject I was going to mention the silence but you seem to have taken the words from my finger tips.... well done!

ASBO1 from Loefah and Pokes; the drop then the melody on top, brilliantly simple but affective. When Loefah dropped it in fwd the other week........pure filth.

Oh yeah Fully thanks again for the what rfx

das alright blud

i reckon the silence between the bass notes before a drop is a heavy feelin. like your chest is under bass pressure for time den that spot of silence when you can hear every1 in the club scream and laffin den BOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHH sum deep bass crushes ur head in.
and everyone is skankin and jumpin round like retards lol

das why i like drops

Audio Juxtaposition! when a tune just switches, ala Asbo 1 or for another example Vault.

unpredictability.

If i know what's going to happen, then i guess that kinda kills it.

But yeah, like someone else mentioned, I'm glad it's not always all about the drop. Sometimes a track needs to ease you in like "saints n sinners" or "give jah glory".

ah thats one of the reason i really like listenin dubstep sets. instead of big drops, dj's mix'n'blend tunes sometimes 2-3minutes and then switch.. ofcourse some tunes have nice drop

For sure man. That bit of silence when the bass pressure has gone makes your body feel totally different when you're hearin it on a big rig, and then BOOM the room blows its lid
