The true nature of reality.

What is the purpose of our existence? A pretty deep question for some.

Quantum mechanics is starting to show that mere observation upon a particle can alter its state. This in theory could mean that our very consciousness can alter reality, as Quantum mechanics is now starting to prove.

Now consider this. This in turn would prove that every living thing is tapped into a universal frequency that binds all our consciousness together. Think of all living things as FM radios and the universal frequency being the thing we are tuned into.

But why?

This frequency, that has so far lay undetected in our universe, yet seems to bind the whole fucking thing together could only have one purpose: information. The only way this frequency "feeds" itself, is through experience of living things. Our purpose being, to live, experience and feed the universal consciousness so that future generations can be born into a higher state of consciousness.

Think of birds for example. How do birds know how to build nests? How do they know how to migrate and fly in formation. These things are not "taught" to them. They are born into this information that has always been there. The minute they become conscious, this "instinct" is linked to its consciousness and they simply know, without being taught.

This theory would explain all religions. All religious experiences, and pretty much any paranormal experience anyone has ever had. We are gatherers of information for the greater consciousness, and our purpose is to gather information for it, so that it, itself -and in turn, the very universe which is a product of our very own consciousness- can evolve.

Or not....

Perhaps the frequency is manifested in the vibration of strings?
It's a damn shame that string theory will probably never be proven practically in our lifetime but it's fucking poetic which ever way you look at it. Our minds are just pieces of the universe trying to understand itself

To reflect upon the confrontational edge
& the disappearance into oneness at core.

knowledge only arrives when it is ready to be understood.

knowledge isnt just an end result, its the whole process which leads to it.

be content in being part of the process/progress.

things only have as much meaning as you project onto them...the tree doesnt call its self a tree.

i dont believe that true 'understanding' will arrive in a thought form either. conceptual or intellectual understanding of connectedness and actual experience of the connectedness are infinitely different.

thoughts and words are discriminative in their own nature. if you only search for answers, you will only be presented with more questions.

curiosity is important in learning and evolving but only when the right questions are being asked..and only when they are asked at the right time. its a sequential thing.

the caterpillar doesnt need to understand the butterfly.

One quick correction - quantum mechanics doesn't show that a particle's state can *change* on observation, it says that it's state will be determined on observation - that is, before observation it has no state, only possible states.

And it's not only intelligent observation - an "inanimate object" 'observes' other inanimate objects to a strong enough degree to cause states to be chosen - for instance, the moon "feels" or "observes" the earth's gravitational pull, as does the earth "feel" the moon's despite them not having intelligence - their states are affected anyway.

Mmm... quantum.

I'll reply to this properly later!

Oh, and I've just been reading this little collection of essays and stuff on this sort of subject:

Very good, but a little heavy at times... my brain hurt a bit yesterday.

Aye correct.

String theory is a great subject however, ill be watching this topic closely.

I have a feeling of dread about where this thread is going to head.

Reality is as we perceive it, one mans is different from the next. I do believe we are all linked, the whole universe is linked, what I do not get is humanities constant struggle to find a purpose in this.

Why must this link be conscious and why must this link have a purpose? Why must there be a higher state?

And as far as animal examples, i.e. birds, then information is stored genetically.
