Where is it gonna go to then guys? I'm curious as a long time dub maker, I've watched dance-hall,steppers dub, UK dub, jungle, ragga, bashment all develop....the list is VERY long....but dubstep is so broad...and covers most things with a B-line....dare anyone define its current sound, and maybe.....

1describe where it'll be in 5 years time?
2whats the next sub genre of dubstep?
3has it got where it has due to modern technology/computers/w.w web ?
4is it a world wide genre yet?

Mr Darcus.

i'm guessing that (like every other fucking genre) it'll turn into shitty hipster electro house before long..

ye bruv she knows, the future of dubstep is silkie, quest, heny and all the AntiSocial Family + Skream & Benga. These guys are aiming higher then the rest. You're glass may be half empty but theirs is ALLWAYS half full. 2   9
and beyond!!!!!!!!

I agree the stuff Benga and skream are coming out with at the moment it's not different but songs like In For The Kill Remix is starting to appeal to nearly everyone which is shit and great at the same time.

I'd watch out for coki + mala aswell..

I kinda thought the same thing with Drum & Bass when Pendulum blew up within the hipster scene. I honestly think there will be a couple dubstep producers who will join that same bandwagon but with DNB - it is still underground, there is still nasty dirty basslines and it's not that commercialized. I feel the same for the future in dubstep. I feel it's only going to get better. With more and more dnb producers doing dubstep now - it's going to get awfully dirty. SPL, DZ, and Babylon System are way ahead of their time IMO.

The future of dubstep = dubstep. It will evolve and you will evolve. That's it.
