I've been lurking on the edges of this forum for a while now, taking in tips and general knowledge! Thanks to all the folk on here, this place is very helpful.

I've finished my first dubstep inspired track tonight, made a lot of hiphop/electronic type stuff in past and still do.

Its the first tune on www.myspace.com/soosh21
--- sleepy rocking chair-----

Its a building tune and takes a good 1.30 to kick in.........anyway, would muchos appreciate some feedback etc. No wobbles in sight, more a musical affair. Anyway, enough chat! Love or hate your choice.

hey your track is really cool, and it has no wobble, horror! I liked it a lot, especially that vocal sample in there. It sounds like electronica dubstep or something. I'd be interested to hear what else you come up with

Hey, glad you liked. Never been into making wobbles and stuff when making dubstep, but well into a heavy tune when out at a dubstep night.

Im getting some proper monitors soon, but having to make do at the moment. Has anyone had a chance to listen with some proper speakers, would like to hear your thought!?

Thanks.

I checked em using my krk rp 6:

- You should roll some low off the track, it's quite muddy.

- Clean up the samples, sounds a bit cos right now everything sounds
really clouded each element is eating all the headroom.

I like the rest of the track though, really nice tune bro!

When you'll get studiomonitors put the remixed track up again. I like this alot
hope you get the tips i'm giving.

Hey thanks for your advice, i totally agree it sounds muddy and not very clear at all due to different elements clashing.
Im interested in what you say about taking some low off the track to make it more clear. Im using ableton 7, Ni massive, Ni absynth 4, Fxpansion Guru, PSP Vintage warmer, and some other plug ins.

Do you mean just tweaking the eq on a few channels and taking out some bass-low end? One thing ive never quite understood is all the frequencies etc.....how do u know what frequency a channel is, and how do you go about changing it so it sits better in the mix. I dont know if im making myself clear, bit confused myself TBH. And, any other tips people have to making stuff more clear especially rumble low end sounds with the tools i have......? Im already using compressors, reverb, eq'ing etc but its one thing i never get right!

cheers all!
