looking for different obbles for your wobbles?

Ok- we all know about LFO'ing the cutoff (amongst other tried & true methods)... but sometimes you might be looking for a variation on that theme... perhaps a different way to modulate your existing synths- or even samples...
the rudeboyz at Audio Damage have just given away another freebie:

A replica of an old-school tremolo pedal (with native tempo sync). Check it out...
Not for every track, but it'll add some variation into your wobble arsenal for sure.

There are a million and one ways of getting a wobble, and many of them have nothing to do with filters!
Tremelo (Slight variation in volume)
Vibrato (slight variation in pitch)
Pulse width modulation
Phase modulation
Phase cancelation (beating)
Harmonic syncing/variation (Surge & Z3ta both have this ability)
Varying the distortion/clipping amount
Modulation effects (chorus/phaser/flanger)
Filters chains
Layering
Formant shifting

Looks interesting I love the AD stuff. I'll load it up tonight!

I recently discovered pulse width modulation with Predator, always wondered what that PWM knob was for - makes pads sound lovely and swirly too.
But what the hell is Harmonic syncing/variation? I have Z3ta, can u explain it to me, and how to do it?

Open up the waveshaper window and mess with the sync slider...
In fact, any of the sliders in there have potential for making a wobble!

Interesting, I need to give this a try!

Hmm... don't know. It is a standard Universal Binary. Perhaps have Logic do a rescan? I don't use Logic, so I can't confirm. Works fine in Live with OSX.

thanks for the tip top

lfoing slight variations within a waveform can yield some cool results. try the carbon wave in massive.

lfo -> distortion is always good.

Or:
Draw the notes in the preferred wobble pattern (every other note, every 4 notes, etc), automate your filters(cutoff, resonance, pitch, asdr, other) to open and close for your desired wobbly effect and copy and paste the pattern with automation.
Then, you could make small adjustments to the filters to get some more variety in your wobble. I was doing this until I trashed all my tunes with wobbles because I was getting a wobble rut. I did it this way because when I was using the 1/4 t (or d) style to get that off kilter wobble, but I only liked half of the pattern in a measure. So, instead of bouncing it down and loosing all my other filter adjustments, I just programmed the wobble instead of doing it lfo filter style.
My favorite wobble btw is the detuned sine phase cancellation wobble. It's a classic.
(now I wanna go make a wobble tune...fuckers)

Not entirely surprising.. it is a free exclusive they did for CM three years ago or so. They are about to do a new exclusive for CM, so decided to open Pulse Modulator to the public for free.
For anyone who is curious, this is the original hardware that was modeled for the plug:
