If this was continental europe, people would be out on the streets over this. Even if he wasnt a protester.

Poor bloke, probably walking slowly cos not real well.
Copper irritated that he's not moving along quickly enough.
The shove was over the top for sure, could've nudged him...and no assistance either.
It's, at least, assault for anybody else.

pffffft, if police can shoot someone 7 times in the head and not cause too much public outrage, i don't think a wee push is going to rile many people up...

Meh, anyone who is older enough to remember the poll tax riots or the miner's strike will know this kind of thing happens all the time with the police.

Yeah, but it doesn't make it something we shouldn't shout about when it's put in front of us. It
shouldn't happen and the officer involved is a criminal, straight up.
The thing that actually worries me though is that we haven't heard
anything about this before. There are *shitloads* of police witness to the assault and to the collapse/treatment/death... we've heard plenty about the problems during treatment but *none* of those police officers have said anything about the push.
I can't believe that none of the eye witnesses have until now either.
Without a Met statement this looks like actual police collusion to cover up an aggravated assault/manslaughter charge and it's all live on camera. That's a clearer verdict to topple some top brass than the Menezes case was, tbh.

The police are stnuc, end of.
They said he fell and had a heart attack all of his own accord. LIES, without being assaulted by them stinking scum rozzers I would like to think he wouldn't have been so shocked/injured to induce any cardiac arrest. MANSLAUGHTER, no other way about it.
They said the protestors attacked them with bottles and stones whilst they tries to protect/treat him. LIES, reading a few independent witness accounts and having spoken to some folk who were on the scene a bottle was thrown at the police when it looked like they were bunching up on someone on the ground, that quickly stopped when the rest of the protestors told him what was actually going on.
They said the protestors stopped the ambulances from reaching him. LIES, it was the police themselves that denied the ambulances access as
this video clearly shows.
Also several statements exist saying that before the video captured him being pushed to the ground, he had been struck to the floor previously and hit twice whilst down on the ground whilst trying to find a way home through the police cordons.
People in the crowd of protestors had rung the ambulance service when he later collapsed and began performing first aid on him, when the police arrived and surrounded him they wouldn't talk with the 999 operator as would be standard procedure one would have thought?!?
For what was an innocent non-protesting old man trying to get home after a honest days work dying at the hands of the protectors of the state it's absolutley disgusting. This is what the police where doing all day to people with stronger hearts and younger bodies, and the next day when they raided several premises hunting vandals, aggrssive tactics that aren't unexpected tbh, but it's depressing that it has to take some poor innocent dying to bring their tactics into question.
No badges, balaclavas, using the law to protect themselves, then lying so blatantly?!?!?!
This made me quite angry, but as with the Menendez case I doubt anything will happen, promotion maybe for those involved if I follow a parallel between the two cases?

What bothers me the most is despite all of this shit, people all over the western world want more government. More bureaucrats taking care of us. More taxation for things we do not agree with and you're taught more and more in schools that governments are respectable.
Truly disgusting. Give government an inch and they'll take a mile, take no personal responsibility and support corporations that help fuck people over even more while celebrating artificial economies. Congratulations, you're all voting for the assholes that want to expand this sort of shit. Instead of trying to get a functioning government, which people have been doing for ages to no avail whatsoever, why not consistently vote to reduce the size of it?
Trust your government, folks.

^^^Gen, I do hope your first paragraph is a joke because there's no fucking way I want any
more government, beaurocracy, or taxation, and my teachers certainly taught me wisely enough to never trust any politicians on face value. Ever.
Anyway, here's the original Guardian article:
