while it is very deep, abstract, intelligent and awesome... it doesnt have enough groove. i like things being deep and awesome, but also groovy enough that even my grandma will get down to (well, my grandma is pretty hip, but you know what i mean)

I really have a thing for the Digital Mystikz at the Peel Show recording - the selection is really good, all the tunes really flow into each other (ok, apart from Root -> the sing-y Mala dub at the end, that's just a bit random), it really takes you on the cliched journey, and the BBC sound does something funny (in a very good way) to the sound of the tunes, make them much more listenable on headphones really (expensive compression, I think).

Can anybody who also loves this mix recommend similar?

Nothing that i've heard can beat Excisions Shambhala 2008 mix.
Dark, dirty, bassy, and it goes skitz in the middle. EPIC.

These classic mixes reflect a watershed moment just before the wobbleclones took over.
Pinch 05 or Paul Rose(scuba) N4 also from 05.
Quiet storm who morphed into caspa also did some wicked promo bangers back in the day as well.
