Most Dancehall is shit, you're right. Homophobic misogynistic crap. However I give you Terry Lynn - Kingstonlogic 2.0
It's like Dancehall but different!

Yeah I mean the roots dancehall is cool but this new Gangsta Dancehall is ruining reggae and it's against everything that Bob and the other reggae artists fight for...
No one that really likes reggae and the ideas of reggae music can like gangsta dancehall ... it's a contradiction
But never mind that... here's another good video from Tosh:

"Gangsta Dancehall" as you call it has been around since the 1980's, ain't nothing new about it. Now i agree some of the lyrics are abhorrent but your comment "
No one that really likes reggae and the ideas of reggae music can like gangsta dancehall ... it's a contradiction " is complete and utter nonesense. Try telling that to David Rodigan, a man who has supported Jamaican music since the 1960's. He plays some of the dirtiest Dancehall around. I love all styles of Jamaican music whether it be Ska/Rocksteady or "Gangsta Dancehall" You don't have to believe the lyrics of such music to enjoy it. I am neither a violent misogynist homophobe or a Rasta but i still enjoy Reggae and Dancehall.
