Does Burial gig?

I know I'm a little behind here but I just got 'Untrue' and I'm fuckin lovin it. As I was kickin back in other world the album brought me to I made a trip over the Wikipedia. I was reading about him been anonymous until late last year. I was thinking then, does he did not gig?, I mean the debut album won loads of awards, I would of thought that it would took some live perform aces just to get people to start listening to it. But then again when your tunes are that good, does even it matter?, I suppose if you can get other DJ's playing it that's half the battle.

I dunno maybe I'm totally wrong, anybody know what the dealio is?

"I like it that way. I've had times when I've had mates sitting next to me and they've put my tunes on without knowing. I would just sit there whispering to myself, 'Please don't put that on - or at least, don't say anything bad about it," he says, with a nervous laugh. "I've had someone say to me, 'Yeah, Burial's a girl. I know someone who met her.'

"It's just the way I am. I can't step up, I want to be in the dark at the back of a club. I don't read press, I don't go on the internet much, I'm just not into it. It's like the lost art of keeping a secret, but it keeps my tunes closer to me and other people."

From that interview...

I guess not.

that's a NO! he was a rogue until half a year ago when he revealed a picture of himself coz he said ppl started being way too interested in his identity instead of the music but I'm sure we'll all hear about his first gig (whenever that may happen)

from what i understand of his production process, i don't see how he could take that music live other than as straight DJ sets.

Crazy

Anyone know what sort production set up he has?, its probably totally digital but there is a very warm sound to a lot of his tracks as well, the kind ya'd expect from analogue gear.

Yeah he doesn't DJ and i think it was only Mary Anne Hobbs and Kode 9 who played his stuff before release!

Yeah he doesn't use any advance equipment, an old copy of sound forge. (if adds an effect to something he can't tweak it later!)

honestly, even though i love his shit, i don't think i could sit thru a set while out on the town... probably a pretty awkward situation if you think about it.
