Mix i threw together a few days ago for one of the forum members here.
This is mostly new stuff so no Mac Dre on this one- The next one will have some Mac Dre for sure.

Its 84 minutes of music in mp3 @ 320 kbps. There are some corny songs in the middle- "Stunna Glasses and Ghost Ride The Whip" but hey they are for partying and having fun so don't be too hard on me! Oh i also threw one new southern song on there -"Tell Em What They Wanna Hear". Peep the dude Rashad singing the Art Of Noises's "Moments In Love" riff on that one.
I hope u all enjoy it -if you like this sort of thing.

Big Up Dub U !!!

Can't wait to check this mix & get a lil stupid.

I love that Shadow fans get pissed at his new stuff, I saw somewhere that was his intention, to make some real rap music and annoy all his fans that want him to re-make 'Endtroducing' over n over.

At any rate, I think that '3 Freaks' tune is the best thing he's done in years,
bay area producer works with bay area rappers on a bay area beat, yeah, How Dare He !!!

yeah finally go thit downloaded.
i like it, and your mixing is on point...like the effects.

some straight funny tunes...the ghostbusters tune is great.
i like this cause its not so serious, and its got good energy.

its like crunk, except bearable.
not like crunk at all...

but to be honest, this whole hyphy thing baffles me.
is it just getting popular now...but has been made for a while now?

cause rick rock has been making these beats for ages...

anyways, what happend to celly cell, or spice 1. hee hee.

top mix though warren !!!

Thanks all-doomstep, marsyas, alex bk bk and jubz anyone who downloaded and listened. I appreciate the feedback alot :). Marsyas- Hyphy has been around about, oh- 4 or 5 years or so i think? Its only one aspect of the whole bay area rap thing though - things are pretty active right now and the producers are taking risks with the sounds etc.. Also alot of the rappers have unique rhyme delivery and slang as doomstep stated concerning keak da sneak.

My favorite rapper in the bay right now in terms of sound and delivery is Turf Talk. My favorite producers right now in the bay are trraxxamillion, droop e (e 40's son), e a ski and of course Rick Rock.
Kaz Kyzah is pretty good as well.

on the d/l, looking forward to hearing it, cheers!! seeing as how you're our hyphy expert, do you know how accurate this hyphy glossary on wikipedia is?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyphy

some of those slang terms are incredible:

"18 Dummy" - Going dumb by drinking Jose Cuervo 1800 Tequila, also known as "Dummy Juice. The word was made popular among Bay area citizens by The Federation.
"Flamboasting" - All manner of showing off.
"Hyphy train" - A wild, mobile party with a long line of cars with all the doors open, in which occupants ghost-ride, flamboast, dance on the hood and roof, and otherwise get hyphy.
"Thizz Face" - Coined by Mac Dre to describe a "look on your face like you smell some piss". Originated from the face that one makes when putting an Ecstasy pill in one's mouth, due to the bitter taste. The term and facial expression have been appropriated to mean several other feelings and situations. Also known as doing the Cheney.

:o definitions sound a bit urban dictionary-dubious to me in places (lol at doing the Cheney, that's gotta be bullshit right?!), but everyone seems to be saying hyphy has a VERY distinct culture of its own. all this stuff about 'the fast and the furious' type high-jinx in cars is weird too...

most of that is nonsense, thats a pretty accurate defintion of 'thizzface' though LOL! (other than the cheney part)

There is a link to a video of a cat doing it below.

That’s great Mos Dan I am glad it had the effect on you! I love the SF bay area and the music from here so I am happy to share my love for it.

I also want to thank Jubs as well- I appreciate it.

As far as being an "expert" on the lingo- I am not. I have a good idea about what alot of it means but it changes pretty fast. So a word will have one meaning one day and different a different one the next. There are some common terms like thizz – hyphy etc.. and others that are somewhat static but they often gain new connotations pretty quickly as well.
Often bay area slang makes it into peoples vocab. without them even knowing where it came from e.g.-- Fo Shizzle.

The video Substance-D posted of Mac Dre is a good example
Of a thizz face.

I haven’t heard of the cheney but I have heard of the Furley based on that cat mr furley from 3’s company.

It def is a culture in some ways though - i.e ghostriding the whip the lingo, music etc...
