Hey there.
I'm sorry for writing to you again about my search for turntables for the 1000th time, but I have another question /sigh, hehe.
I'm looking for a good deal on a pair of Technics 1210s and a mixer to start DJing, but I was thinking if I should purchase a "controller" instead with the Traktor Scratch Duo?
I'm not really into the controller items, what do they do? If I understand it right, can you plug them into a mixer, and plug that into a computer installed with Traktor and then start mixing? Or do you need two turntables / CDJs?

If you have a controller for traktor, then it just plugs straight into your computer via USB, and then it works as turntables and a mixer, but instead of controlling vinyl or CDs, it just controls the turntables in Traktor, therefore enabling you to mix MP3's on your computer, with a more DJ friendly interface than a keyboard and mouse.
A friend of mine uses a Vestax VCI 100
it's pretty fun and easy to use, the beatmashing features of traktor are awesome and you can get really creative with the FX
Hope this helps!

I've just setup Traktor today so that I can cue things in headphones and I've setup my Oxygen 49 to control it. I've had all the things to do it for ages but forgot about it, now I can mix MP3's

I had to sell my decks and i'm on a very tight budget.
I know its behringer, so it aint gonna last, but after reading reviews and watching video's i have heard nothing but good about them. It even has an audio interface for cuing the mixes. I wouldnt trust it at a large venue, and am going to use another soundcard for the main sound output, but looks just what i want. Will let you know how good/bad it is
Dude, hit Wascal up about that thing! He has one and gets quite a lot of use out of it too. Not to bad from what I hear...

yeah that looks pretty cool!
I am debating getting the little controller for torq
setting up ttbls live is a disaster waiting to happen and burning CDJ's is getting old

Awesome!
Any models you recommend other than the Vestax?
Is it a good idea to purchase this instead of waiting a long time for a pair of turntables?
