I really love this band. The music sounds chaotic but beautiful. Not really the sort of music i listen to, so i know fuck all about it. Not even sure what genre it fits into.
I'm basically looking for hard sounding rock without all the screechy grinding noisy devil vocals. Infact no vocals is a bonus.
Any ideas?

65daysofstatic is 'post-rock'.

If you want something heavy without vocals, check out 'Pelican'. There's plenty of post-rock'ish metal like that.

For something that it sorta along the lines of 65daysofstatic, check out anything that is somehow associated with Constellation Records.. you know, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Exhaust, A Silver Mt. Zion, Fly Pan Am, Do Make Say Think, Set Fire To Flames, etc etc.

Get Slint's "Spiderland" and their 2 song EP.

I used to be well into postrock. Get 65Daysofstatic's first album, 'The Fall of Math' - it's got their best tunes on it, though is more inconsistent than their more recent efforts.
Apart from them, the best postrock is Godspeed You! Black Emperor - get 'Lift your skinny fists like...' first. Mogwai are another obvious but good shout (fucked my ears when I saw them live though). If you like them give Mono a listen too, though they kind of rip Mogwai off.

Others not mentioned yet - Tortoise are great, especially if you're into stuff with more electronic atmospheres. Sigur Ros are kind of post rocky, but you've probably already made up your mind about them one way or the other. Also check out Fly Pan Am and, slightly more jazzy and chilled, Do Make Say Think.

Finally, best for last, the original (along with Slint) post-rock was made by Talk Talk on their last two albums, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, which are just fucking amazing - nothing like their earlier synth pop.

I'm really getting into this Post Rock malarchy, loads of good music to be found.
However i think the name is shite it sounds far too geeky for my liking.

Don't forget Mogwai, although they do have the occasional vocals. Not heavy, but damn good.

Explosions In The Sky for sure, This Will Destroy You, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai, Ascent Of Everest.

Then there's bands that use it nicely against a range of different stuff, like Sigur Rós, and M83.

It's strong genre. You don't hear much bad post-rock.
