I've always done all my sidechaining in reason and its a piece of piss. Not quite sure how to apply the same techniques in pro tools.

Any tips or advice much appreciated!

i'm from russia and my english is awfull...
once i've seen the tutorial about audio effects, and there was some words about sidechain compression in pro tools. You need to use sends on the channels, to realise this trick. the send of sidechained channel need to be switched on pre fader. the plugin that was used is pro tools expander-gate plug in. I cant explain to you how it works in details, cause it very difficult to me to write it in english. you can download this tutorial from audionews, there is a many usefull tips for pro tools users. the name of the tutorial is - "Digital.Music.Doctor.Mixing.Mastering.Know.It.All"...

there you can find one another tutorial, that called - "Pro Tools 7 - Know It All Now !" I think it would be interesting to you :)

Big Up to all Pro Tools Users!

example: buss your kick on send 13. put a compressor on your bass. in the "key input" tab of the comp, pick the buss with the kick. play with your settings. make your shit PUMP!!

don't forget to turn on the key input;)
