Ok seriously, this is the stuff I've been feeling more than anything else. Yeah lyricists yadda yadda but I'm kinna relishing hip hop made for the producer. Even if it still can have an MC over it, these cats aren't building tunes to showcase anyone else but their skills behind the buttons...
Problem is, now that I know what I'm looking for, I don't know a whole bunch of cats doing it.
We all know Dilla and Madlib, et al. And recently I found Alex B. and devon(who) and Thavius Beck, who are right rippin shit up. But I want more, especially since, production wise, this is what I'm feeling the most and what I'm starting to produce.
Anyone have any killer recommendations for cats doin' this style? I'd be greatly appreciative of any pointers cuz I'm in sponge mode and just want to soak up as much of this sound as possible.
Thanks!

nosdam! i was probably one of the first "urban" folks to really get into the anticon sound during the late 90s. back then it was a faux pas in the hood.

Check out Anomaly, he's a pre-rhymesayers producer and I found a link to his record which is out of print:

check out DJ Nobody, here's a track:

Green Means, you'll recognize it from the Menikmati video if you skate
or DJ Mayonnaise, DJ Signify, Maker, Mansbestfriend, Metaform all have LPs out, probably out of print but just check for it on Solarseek or wherever
even Blueprint, he released Chamber Music in 2004, you might like that
or Kenlo (
http://www.myspace.com/kenlocapsules) he's from my city and he has 5 free albums for download check it out
that's all I can think of for now
