Tried to get a modern afrobeat sound, vocals still need work, was thinking of even just making it a pure dub with minimal vox, as some don't work.

Well its up and it's Lagos Strut in the player.

I like that kind of groove but I'd wish you could vary the rhythm a bit more. It's just 1 bar looping.
I did a house remix of a afrobeat/funk/reggae band once (Northern Star Groove Alliance). It ended up being very long (off course) and with a downtempo funkbreak in the middle and some acid synths squeeling in the background. Enjoy!
