turntable advice

Hey

My friend directed me to this forum to ask advice on which turntable to buy.
I'm looking to spend $50-150, preferably somewhere around $70 would be more financially responsible for me. I'm looking for one with a built in preamp so that I can hook it up to a stereo jack, but would consider using an external preamp if there is any advantage to that.

Two I'm looking at right now are Audio Technicas: AT-PL50, AT-PL120 ... but the 120 is probably too expensive. I'm in college and have rent/food priority.

If anyone knows if the AT-PL50 is good enough for a casual listener, or if there is a better place to spend my money, it'd be a huge help.

Thanks for reading and your advice,
Nathan

Numark PT-01

should be a decent buy for the budget-minded listener/sampler/digger...otherwise, id suggest looking for a second-hand unit of better quality, depending on what you want to do with your turntable (ie. mixing, scratching, sampling, listening, etc.).

those Audio-Technicas look pretty good too, with the Numark youd probably pay a little extra for the portability.
