We’re coming correct again - bringing it back to Dalston with the hottest names in UK funky, bassline, dubstep, garage and bashment.
Dexplicit, best known as the producer behind the Forward Riddim (aka Lethal Bizzle's ‘Pow’) is the only bassline producer in London to have earned respect from the Niche crew up north. His forward thinking productions are scene defining, bringing something raw and exciting to whatever sound he turns his hand to. Check his recent ‘Judas Riddim’ to see Dex’s take on the wonky synth.
Roska is one of the UK funky scene’s hardest working producers. With a slew of releases on labels such as Maximum Bass, It’s Funky and his own Kicks and Snares there's no doubt that Roska's skippy, bass-heavy tunes have been dominating this year. Watch out for his remixes of Zed Bias, Untold and Greena which are sure to bun down dancefloors across the UK.
From Leeds we have Ben UFO, repping Hessle Audio, the most exciting label in dubstep at the moment. Ben has helped shape the deeper axis of the scene by championing artists such as TRG, Untold and Ramadanman and his tight and diverse sets have helped him to establish himself as a well respected DJ alongside the likes of Oneman and Brackles.
Smutlee is well and truly on his game at the moment with his mashups of UK funky and bashment receiving untold love from magazines such as Fact, Plan B and Vice. Once a hiphop head, now an all-round party starter, Smutlee is pure party vibes and not to be slept on, ya hear?
Voice ‘n’ Vibes have been non-stop hustling, putting most other acts to shame. Bringing the best in bashment, hiphop and funky, these two promote forward-thinking nights with swimming pools, bowling lanes and more for proper memorable nights, all backed up by their huge underground following.
Bass and Time residents Unknown Soulja, Mosca, E-wan Jams and Hades will be bringing their trademark mashup sound filling all the right gaps – from dancehall to funk, hiphop to cumbia, grime to reggaeton and on and on… Check the myspace for mixes from the residents.
