Easy all,

I wondering if anyone could be so kind as to send me a Reason file with a basic bass sine wave / drum pattern preset and compressed+EQed with a really nice rich bass sound on the drums and the bass. I've just started to EQ things properly but it's going slow - and I learn much better by imitation.

on a side note, has anyone noticed how in reason when you double up the drums - i.e. play them from the sequencer section and the drum machine itself at the same time - it sounds a whole lot fuller? maybe obvious but it's a strange quirk nonetheless.

Yup. If you want to avoid that, simply switch off pattern select on the redrum. (button near the bottom left I think)

by fuller do you mean louder?

surely by doing that you are only increasing the volume?

i presume it's just because it sounds louder, but on my speakers (yes, not monitors oh noes) it sounds a lot richer.

those preset racks are great but i was ideally (and lazily) looking for a reason file with synths+compressor+EQ all attached.

Spend the time making one yourself. You won't regret it. Once you have a few drum kits selected and saved, all routed through whichever fx you want, your workflow will speed up. Its also easier to experiment then.

Why not just use on of the default tunes that comes with Reason??

At the end of the day, everyone who really gets into music production learns through following tutorials, reading and experimenting. If you're to lazy to do that, I'd recommend finding the TV remote and zapping all night....

its flanging from the slight difference in timing between the two sequencers. Its just phase cancellation.
