Well to be honest, ive not tried the big headphones, like the dj ones...But the in-ear ones are fantastic. Much better than any other ive tried

That's what I got and like I said....shredded. They were pretty good while they lasted, just think the wiring is a litle flimsy, easy to cut, or snap a one of the wires

I had MDR V700s
They lasted probably 7 or so years before the plastic started cracking. I think that's pretty durable. My biggest issue with them was comfort. I found them very heavy, and the pressure from the speakers combined the weight always gave me headaches.

fan of the hd25's, absolutely. everything's replaceable as well-- just replaced the cable for $16.
also like the fact that tthey're small, light, and don't smack you in the chin when you've got' em around your neck.

Spending a ton of cash on dj headphones is kinda dumb imo. All you need is to make sure they are loud and durable and like I said on the cheap side. I don't know about you guys but I get kinda Bentley at gigs. I wouldn't want to forget a 300 dollar pair of cans at the club. Fat chance you will ever see them again. Anyway expensive dj cans are kinda like jewelry for dj's. More looks than anything imo. But if you must have sick pair of dj cans maybe Ultrasone would be the way to go.
Personally I use the Sony MDRV600's. I have had them for years, all the pleather is gone and I need to solder on a new jack cuz they only play out of one side and they sound like shit for general listening but they do a wonderful job of letting me cue up some beats. Like I said they will last you, I have had these for maybe 7 years and they are still ticking. I wouldn't say I take care of them very well either.

^^^ this, this and this.
i disagree that spending money on decent headphones is a bad move - HD25s cost double what those Sony things do, but they last a lot more than twice as long, so you save money really.

I spent money I on my studio cans, we are talking dj cans here. Watch the HD25's get stolen twice as fast.
