Hi,
I have been making tunes for years and finally i have my first one I am happy to send off to a label. I used to be into dnb and knew loads of people to send the tracks to, but being a bit alien to the world of dubstep I have no idea. Can anyone help me with sending my tunes to a decent label preferably London based?
thanks

I think there was a thread in this section of the forum which had a list of all the labels involved with dubstep. Does it have to be a london based label anyway?

it doesnt have to be, but it would be preferable as I live in London.
Obviously the internet would be a choice, but Im having a hard time finding e mails to send tunes to...
any help?

What style (as much as I hate to group dubstep) are the tunes your making? Your best bet is finding a label pushing the sort of sound your making.

I have no initiative, I need people to tell me what to do. Can anyone who has actually done it tell me how they actually did it, and not guess as to ways that I have already tried... well, vaguely anyway.

My advice to you is to decide on a few labels that you ideally want your stuff to come out on, get in touch with someone at these labels by sending emails/myspace messages/pms or whatever, or meeting them in person is sometimes the best way so go to a night where they are playing and introduce yourself and give them a cd, and then follow up the contact POLITELY. You have to remember that these people get lots of demos so acting in any way like a dick will likely result in your demo instantly heading for the bin. Don't be offended if people don't get back to you - they are busy and may need polite reminding.
If your tunes are good enough then they will get signed. If they are not, they may still get signed but not necessarily.
OK?

I guess what I was trying to get at is this AIM thing, people tell me to use that, but then I have no idea what it is really. and when I do try to find aim adresses on label sites and stuff, I cant find them....
any links to aim adresses etc would be useful.
thanks

What labels to you buy from? Who do you go out to see? Just get involved and talk to the people you meet.
