if you wanted to do it by arp in say something like z3ta+ you'd set it up to be 3x note 3x down pattern then automate the sync on it

fl studio has a built in arp for all samples/vsts... just set to minor key and set your speed...pretty simple to get that sound

i think arpeggios are really fun and a quick easy way to get a cool melody without havin to do shit ;) i usually will plug one in in the minor key just to hear somethin cool to go with a beat i just made. skream has kinda trademarked that sound which is too bad cus it is a little over used in dubstep but i do like the sound a lot.

Listen.

Take out your keyboard.

Learn to music.

It's really easy to learn melodies by ear.

erm...i think what your after (if not the melody :s) is juss slam a reverb unit on it with an echo on the 8th/16th w.e bpm u work in.

edit: its deffo juss a simple wave...prob triangle or sumthing
