is this a rejection of the term funky ?

do we need to change the name of this section ?

funky is a weird thing to call it. is dubbage any better tho ?

Funky and Dubbage are completely different still.

the differences between dubbage and funky seem so small, to me anyway, really pedantic

dubbage is

tippa explains it on my blog here:

for me dubbage is more about a selection than it is trying to be a genre. its certainly controvercial for some.

it's a london thing :p

It's all just music to me now really, everything has elements of everything else in it, lines between styles etc are so blurred now. It's awesome :D

maybe this forum should be called just 'House' and then underneath - 'Funky, deep, dubbage etc)

Not that it really matters

UK Funky is a silly name but so are most genre names, Dubstep included. Once you see a box, exist on the fringes of it, push the boundaries of it or think outside it!

Dubbage / Funky

seems like it's all part of the base really, I have a feeling people in London get a bit too competetive

and before someone goes mental I dont mean it SOUNDS the same, you can buy a UKG classics cd with songs which sound incredibly different etc etc..

what about the other 10% (come on its way more than that)

Geeneus, Roska, Fuzzy Logik, D Malice, Lil Silva

that kinda funky, whatever you wanna call it, seems to fit pretty nicely with this Dubbage stuff, even though it's not the same sound.

D Malice & Lil Silver lmfao, dont make me laugh.., them 2 need to be slapped with real vinyl.

Roska, Geeneus & Fuzzy has some bits that i fancy
But the other two wouldnt no how to make a real funky track if the instructions hit them in the face and said read me.

Like a said a good 10%
Look at it this way, if the tracks were all still vinyl... how many tracks out today would you go out and say thats a defo buy.. im defo going to spend £7-£11 for on vinyl?

Theres not enough good produced at the mo to even say half of the stuff is quality.

Its got so bad now that the djs are playing the same dead top 20 tracks.
dj after dj after dj. and these are big djs.. explain that then. hows that?
