Is there any particular d`step track(s) that you just can`t feel that much any more due to consistent kaning (either by yourself or other DJ`s)?
For me, Haunted and Request Line just don`t turn me on anymore, whenever they wanna give me some bassey love i just find myself rolling over and saying "I`m tired tonght, maybe some other time".

The Baby Cham vocal over World War 7. I loved the original one and the vocal mash-up spoils it for me. Maybe the fact that it's been rewound 3 times on every god damn fuckin mix I've heard on the last few months has something to be.
Also the 2 vocal mixes over Tapped, JME's and the mashup with Antiwar dub's vocals. I love the instrumental, but I can't stand it with vocals over it.
Did I say I don't like vocals over dubstep?
(not always tho)

I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I'll risk it lol. I've been around a very long time, so I understand the point of "dubplate culture" completely, but...
I can't help thinking it's got to the point that things like this hold a scene, and artists, back... maybe I'm getting old (oh OK, I admit it... I AM old, lol) but back in the day, many early jungle and UKG tunes were out within a couple of months of the dubs being played on the pirates... in dubstep and grime, it can take many months if not YEARS for tunes to come out.
And I think this tune is a perfect example of what might happen... an unreleased tune which many consider over-played, which may not come out for many months; or, because many are now fed up of it, may not now be released at all!
now, maybe my rapidly ageing brain is missing something here, but I really can't see how that is good for anyone!

i somewhat agree. certainly now the demand has shot up, it makes a lot of sense to speed up the turnaround from dubplate to shop. and this has happend to a certain extent with recent DMZ plates.
As more and more labels come through releasing dubstep, i think the process will shorten further.
There is a great wealth of back catalogue material to draw from but the mentality of always moving forwards seems to get in the way a bit. The current anthems will always get rinsed and often at the expense of something else.
People still buy pop singles after hearing them on the radio for months. I don't see why this is any different. Being able to listen to a record at home that you've brocked out to is a great feeling and one i personally enjoy despite my familiarity with the track.

sadly its played out!
like ramadan said though, thats probably my own fault for listenin to too many rinse sets.
but then havin said that, maybe its because ive heard the original too many times in the first place..
or maybe its too many djs fault for playin it too many times on too many rinse sets..
hmm.. maybe we're all bastards!
oh and the turn around is definitely gettin far quicker - yus!

yeah i hear yas,
i hope that with some tracks the long turn around may make them listenable again.
for instance marijuana , battered in the space of one night within 4 months it prob wont be played at all.
if released 8 months later people could be like fuck i didnt think this was comin out.
whaadaya reckon , possible or am i being naive?

nope im with you, for me a tune can get battered but still sound fresh if given some breathing space...
e.g.
request line - by the time the djs were done i wanted to kill someone every time i heard that ascending melody, but now i listen to it and its as fat as it ever was, cos no-one plays it anymore
horror show - my mate hammered it mercilessly in my yard, to the point where the stabs had a similar effect (although maybe murderous feelings are maybe part and parcel of that tune!), but now it gets dropped and does it for me again
so i think its just about having time away from it so you can feel the impact again

It seems like it might be good after all not living in the UK and therfore being unable to go to the DMZ and other parties. You won't get so easily fed up with the trax being rinsed over an over again

So even if I hear a pop tune i like, which is relatively rare, I'm sick of the bastard before its even released.
