anyone up for doing a reason collab or summin?

maybe get a load of ppl together and each person is allowed 1 sequencer track each, and is allowed to create lil edits of other ppls bits here n there.. maybe get a few ppl together.. or two teams?

mite be fun, not too serious. reason .rns files are proper easy to pass round, and self contain etc.

put your name down if your up for it

yeh why not, I'm up for it. Might be a bit of a tnuc to organise, could get messy if people have differnt versions. Have to have a pretty tight schedule and stick to it to make sure we eont end up with 8 different half finished versions.

i guess what we need to do is start the thing before we can pass it around

is somebody gonna volunteer to kick this thing off?

here's what i think

it should be open source

like work on the file for a bit, then post the rns on the forum

then somebody else can work on it and post up the rns

if somebody doesn't wanna fuck with a new version because somebody fucked it up real bad then we can try to fuck with an older version

OPEN SOURCE DUBSTEP

ideally we could get a few decent versions done or maybe even a few different tunes

we need a name for the forum collective

i think not using any refills and samples other than the default reason's ones would be better and easier for us to share the .rns files.

maybe we should be allowed to use wav samples as long as you save self contained

count me in :D
open source dubstep is a cool concept!
& yeah maybe it's easier not to use soundbanks & refills?
btw is there major differences between version 2.5 & 3???

yea count me in too - might be a good learning experience!

in reply about reason 2.5 and 3... version 3 has the combinator which is very useful for combining instruments that have lots of devices, into one, so it takes up less visual space. It also allows you to do some patching things you couldn't of done before. also, theres some new eq/compression/maximizer devices, which are handy.

i'd say we use version 3, its been out long enough now - and no refills, but self contained samples would be nice.

yer play with the default reason's sample and keep it simple if it works out bigger thigs to come. using the default reason's sample should test ur style anyway.

i say anything should be fine so long as its self contained

that means no refills other than factory soundbank/orkester

and i'm thinking we should agree on 3.0
