I clicked something within Fruity Loops which made my pattern blocks change to pattern clips in the playlist menu. Does anyone know how to change this back to pattern blocks

the question is, why do you want the old and clumsy pattern blocks back?

I actually prefer the pattern blocks.
I see no advantage over the other method.
Someone educate me? PM me if youre really up for doing this, as i'll forget this thread ever exsisted in about ten minutes.

The only real advantage i can see of the pattern view is that you can see the notes inside the patern, otherwise the blocks are far easier to organise and to keep track of

the advantages:
you can see the notes of each part. So it's easier to keep track of.
you can have all you parts on one line. So you can avoid the "stairs".
you can cut these clips up any way you like, and not have to make a new pattern for it. particularly great for audio
you can see the contents of automaton - YES! this is probably the best part about it. No more hunting around for lost automaton that is doing something you don't want any more.
IMO, it's easier on the eyes. I was used to the blocks, and still use them for drums, but I do think that I am much more flexible using the clips...
The disadvantage:
you have to get used to it. that's it.

also clips can be moved in any quantization, they are purdy, they avoid a large mess, etc..

The pattern clips can be sliced non-destructively.

After reading all these point I think these two alone will convert me. Next tune I make, i'll use the audio clips.
