Build a Patch Library
Provided you don’t have a looming deadline, patch programming is a good way out. You can never be without sound, so try to build a solid library of patches of entirely your own making. Aim to create a wide variety of sounds—basses, pads, fx, keyboards, whatever takes your fancy—and, importantly, try to push the limits of what your synths can do. No parameter should be safe! The only rule is: if it sounds cool, save it. Even if you are having trouble imagining yourself using that comb-filtered squigglemorphzeeeeuooow you’ve just come up with, it might be just what you need later on.
Because you created this library yourself, you’ll know precisely what’s in it at all times and can therefore locate sounds much more easily. Also, you’ll hone your programming skills and most likely discover that your trusty old workhorses were able to do a whole lot more than you thought. Trust me, inspiration will come back to you!
Don't know why I've never done this. But I'm doing it now. Cheers dude.

Nice site! most of the stuff I have read on here before but it is good to be reminded of it all on one site that is clear and easy to understand.
