I've ever had this problem either. What version of audacity are you using? i'm on 1.3 at the moment.

Yup, working fine for me
For mixes, recording random stuff and for rendering mixes from WAV down to 192 for DL...

i might have to try the 1.3 then, just get annoyed when it crashes but the link in top post retrieves lost recordings so its not too bad.
you tried any other recording programs?

audacity is a pain for opening a file and re-editing it often wont let me save it under the current name and have to save it as something different
rubbish*
* not bad for free though

could always try wavosaur as another freeby. Similar, diff features (no mp3s in wavosaur for example).

yeah this happens to me sometimes. normally when i'm low on hard drive space
best way to avoid it is to save your project before exporting. file - save as - audacity project. mine normally crashes after exporting the mix or during the exporting process. save it and then export. if it crashes, reload and export again.
when i've got 5gb+ hd space, it doesn't crash.
