A new beat I am working and could do with some words on.

It's got strings (lots) and a grimesque beat until the second beat. And a decent b-line, but to be honest I'm at a loss on where to take it. I know it needs loads more atmosphere as yet, but to be honest I'm losing faith. Any words of inspiration greatly appreciated!

I actually like this! The amen part is fucking heavy.
I think you could add another elements to it... I'm thinking of a sitar sample that I have here with some delay over it.
Keep up the good work man!

Nice, I like it.
The amen usage is great.
I'd suggest a couple of things: drop the strings out for part (maybe half) of the section before the amen comes in. I like them, but they're a bit busy to keep going for so long.
Once the amen comes in, maybe you could drop those strings out after a bit, and bring it a synthy melody or stab-type thing to keep it moving?
Just ideas, sounding good though...

Easy Pete, keep it up mango!
String melody is ace, but I'm not so keen on the deeper parts - something needs changing there. They work during the amen I reckon, but not the first part. And I like the beat, although I'd prefer a bigger/sharper/distorted snare, and I'm not entirely convinced by the amen. Also think the vocal sample is sweet and I want more. Sorry that's not terribly helpful, but there ya go.

HA!
This has got venetian snares written all over it- and that's no bad thing. The dischords are a little bit too dischordant though- if you put a couple of ear-stroking majors or warm minors in at the end it'll be like a reward for listening through all the ear-scraping.

i'd love to hear the drums lounder and dirtier. maybe samples that are a little more organic, or combine the existing sounds with dirtier samples. strings are cool, but are flattening the track to my ears - they *are* the track because they're so loud, wide, up-front. which gives it almost an aphex feel, but the different parts don't all hold together for me.

i like the strings but then i'm a sucker for the synthesised sort. b-line needs to be a whole lot more heavy - really needs to be the dominant thing in the tune. also maybe suffering from the no beginning/mid/end disease sum early stage tunes get - continual riff on a theme but no real build-up/destination. beats heavy tho.

i like the detuuned bass; would love to hear this with out the nervous strings (keep the melo sustained ones!) it's chilled and tearin at once!
