I am not looking to create or attempt to copy but I am curious as to what this sound may be made from if possible. I am interested in the melody that kicks in when the kick starts. Goes on nearly the whole track but is changing. Sounds like it has shit loads of FX (maybe pedals?)
I recon Four Tet did the melody on this but I could be wrong.

He seems to like his hardware.

Really? How sure do you think it is?:)
I know absolutely zero about guitars so was guessing! sounds really cool. Is it possible to tell what he is doing at all?

trust, it is a guitar
the slight fuzzy ness on it, and some of the attack is a give a way
also the sliding notes
sounds very "real" and not from a synth
but that droney part on top that comes in later could be a synth, thats much harder to tell because theres alot of processing on it

Love Burial.... If I had a choice between getting laid and listining to a new never before heard Burial choon.... I would choose to get laid.
Anyways, Moth is a great track, and as far as how the sound is formed.... I have no clue. Part of the reason why I love it.

fourtet uses this mad 'sequencer' called audio mulch, good interview on SOS, uses samples and remangles things.
So quite prob a guitar, mangled up.
check the sos interview.
