asian influence in dubstep

there seems to be a lot of middle eastern and indo-pakistani sounds in dubstep. shackleton, kode 9, digital mystikz, horsepower, benny ill and tons of other producers use asian percussion samples like darbouka, tabla, riqq, etc, and there are tons of tracks with arabic and bollywood vocal samples. for me what got me into dubstep in the first place were those first tunes like highland spring and swarm, because i loved the asian vibe it had.

i'm not from britain so i wonder is it because of the indo-pakistani and middle eastern population in london and other major cities?

and of course the pakistani sufi's have been "raving" for hundreds and hundreds of years:

I think at the very least it increases peoples exposure to those type of sounds so they'll be more likely to be incorporated into productions.

Also if you havn't already heard it blackdown and dusks album is a must listen for this type of stuff.
