I've always been interested in replicating electronic music live - does anyone know of any live Dubstep Acts?
By which I mean using live instruments to recreate their songs at shows as opposed to DJing.

Im not sure about recreating tunes live but I do know of two groups that perform live dubstep.
Gentlemen's Dub Club
&
Submotion Orchestra
Both on Ranking records in Leeds and both are phat as fuck.
Hope this helps

Couldn't find Submotion on youtube, but GDC were pretty cool! Though it was more reggae/dub than dubstep on the videos I saw.
Did you know what any of their dubstep songs were called? I take it they've taken a direction towards the genre, having started as a reggae act?

chase and status played dubstep live at a BBC show, midi keyboards and drums, hopefully they don't go down the pendulum route

Who remembers the Breakbeat Era live tour? Could something like that work with Dubstep?

i play live, using - ableton, korg electribe, mc 505 and a pcr 300 midi keyboard.
the 505 is going tho' because it's a pain in the arse and the korg is getting filter out more and more. maybe when i get my apc 40 the korg will make a comeback.
less is more it seems for me at the moment, it's just not suitable for me to set up in most clubs. for example, 5 mins before a dj finishes and usually a small booth too = too much to set up and too little time...

Rusko has been hammering the live sets instead of djing.
He uses a bass guitar, samplers, midi keyboard etc etc

Jazzsteppa. In the states: Spit Bros, Conspirator and EOTO. the last 2 aren't exactly dubstep-only but put on serious shows.
