ever stop to think.. "hey, maybe some people just dont like the way release sounds?"
i for one dont like too much release, i keep it down to under .05, and thats if i dont have it at 0.
maybe skrillex is the same way?

besides, does it matter if he uses samples?
he throws shit together, and he makes music that sounds good from it, is that a bad thing?

it sounds to me like sombodies jealous.

Certainly not! I have never thrown hate towards Shrillex ... not once. This post was created for those that want to learn about his techniques, not mock his production flow/tools.

You know, sometimes it's about stepping outside the box, and sometimes it can be hard for producers to do that. I'm willing to bet a number of people have seen this post, and learnt something new, and that's exactly what this post was designed to do.

There are producers that don't understand how those complex types of sounds are created. Because the sounds appear to sound complex, it's often hard for new producers, or even veterans that produce a different type of Dubstep.

After listening to more and more of Shrillex, I have the most utmost respect for him. He's very talented.

Holy shit, after becoming a full-time producer and getting a lot of practice and releases in, as well as getting contacts with some big names to help him out, a producer got a lot better over a few years!

I smell funny business.

I'm not really a big skrillex fan, but I find it funny how he basically pioneered a genuinely original, albiet heavy, sound and because people like it, it gets branded as unoriginal . . . *sigh*

Seriously, all the big name House producers are samplers: Daft Punk, Modjo, Cassius, Justice, and Skrillex :W:

i have big respect for him, cause honestly how many (brostep) dubstep prodcuers are using samples in the main part of the song? alot of vocals and dialouge are sampled for buildups but thats pretty much it

Not gonna lie that video was pretty amazing!
But my only confusion is does he just sample the vocals and recreate the other parts of the track?
Or does he sample the bits and pieces of the track itself and do some heavy heavy resampling and reshaping?
Very eye opening :) Great share man, I haven't seen that one yet!

second, hate it or love it, skrillex tunes are not skank-out tunes. period. Zero percent hating on Skrill, but its NOT skankout ... yes, party, no skank

someone post a proper skank out dub, for fair comparison?
This. Is it even possible to skank to skrillex? I think flailing would be a better word.

^^^ do you think he had to get that girls permission BEFORE he released the song? and idk how royalties work in dubstep because of no mainstream radio play, but does she get royalties?

And I read a comment saying that the later sample in My name is Skrillex is the Angry German Kid video!
Here's the links and you can see for yourself

My name is Skrillex

Angry German Kid

Shadow Dancing by Andy Gibb

Cat Rats by Skrillex (andy gibb somes around 00:36)

He doesn't need it. He's Skrillex.

No, but seriously, if she filed a complaint claiming her rights afterwards, then he would have to remove it. But that's unlikely as it got her an absurd amount of exposure.
